Leeds United and West Ham United are reportedly interested in Real Betis left-back Alex Moreno, and now the Spaniard has commented on interest in his services during an interview with BeinSports – as per Mundo Deportivo.
Moreno, 27, has caught the eye with his performances for Real Betis under Manuel Pellegrini, since joining the club for the La Liga side in the summer of 2019 for a figure of £6million (MD). His efforts have caught the eye.
TeamTalk have claimed that Moreno has emerged as a target for both Leeds and West Ham ahead of the summer window, with Leeds desperate to sign a left-back. West Ham have options but clearly, they want cover.
He has a contract at Betis until the summer of 2024, but Estadio Deportivo have claimed that Moreno has a release clause in his contract that is believed to be worth £35million. Moreno commented on interest from clubs.
“It is true that they have called my agent big clubs but I don’t know anything,” Moreno stated. “I’m focused on finishing LaLiga by entering Europe with Betis and I don’t know anything else.
“My agent has told me to focus on Betis, on my own, on the games that remain. It is a matter of the agents and it is a pride that big clubs notice me ,” Moreno continued, telling BeIN Sports – as per Mundo Deportivo.
TBR’s view – Moreno would be a stunning addition for either
But it remains to be seen what Betis want for their star left-back. Clearly, he is not worth his release clause but Betis might still want £20million for his services – given that Premier League clubs are interested in signing him.
Leeds desperately need a left-back with Gjanni Alioski’s contract about to expire, and Stuart Dallas playing in midfield. Romain Perraud, Yasser Larouci, Patrick van Aanholt and Miguel Gutierrez are all linked with Leeds.
West Ham have Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell – but another left-back could be needed with Cresswell playing on the left of a back three and Masuaku operating as a winger at times. A good signing for both clubs.
