Alex Iwobi has admitted he’s amazed by the quality of Everton teammate James Rodriguez at times.
Rodriguez, who earns £140,000-a-week (Salary Sport) at Goodison Park, has made an impressive impact during his first year in English football.
The left-footed attacking playmaker has six goals and eight assists in just 22 Toffees appearances so far.
It’s no surprise he’s thriving on Merseyside, as he’s had such a high-profile career that has seen him succeed at the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and FC Porto.
Iwobi has explained he’s been shocked though by the quality the Colombian 29-year-old possesses on his weaker right foot.
Rodriguez is renowned for his cultured left foot, but he’s scored a couple of stunning goals already this campaign on his weaker foot.
He tucked in a low finish in the recent 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. Additionally, he netted a stunner from distance back in January against Leicester City.
“What shocked me was his right foot finish, I didn’t know he had that in him,” Iwobi said, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“Some of the passes he plays, I don’t know how he sees it. It’s not normal.”
Rodriguez’s arrival in the summer was greeted by huge celebrations from Everton fans, something which has been fully vindicated since.
Not only does he had star quality to the XI, but it must be such a help for others within the squad to learn from him.
24-year-old winger Iwobi is definitely one of the Everton players that can learn most studying his teammate.
