Report: Alessandro Bastoni could now consider Tottenham transfer, Inter have set their asking price
Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Alessandro Bastoni this summer from Inter Milan and there are signs the defender could actually move to North London.
So far, it’s looked apparent that Bastoni isn’t interested in moving to Tottenham. This, despite Antonio Conte making it clear that he sees the Italian as his ideal signing this summer. The defender is happy in Milan, and is said to be unsure if the move to London is right for him now.
However, there seems to be signs of wobbling from the Inter side of things and FC Inter News – citing Corriere dello Sport – has reported today how Bastoni may actually consider an exit, if Inter accept a bid from Spurs.
7 Pre-Arranged Summer Transfers (2022)
It’s claimed that Bastoni will ‘carefully consider’ an exit from Inter if the club choose to accept a Tottenham bid. That bid would have to be around the £60m mark, per FC Inter.
Of course, this could be the open door that Fabio Paratici has been waiting for when it comes to signing Bastoni this summer. The Italian transfer guru will no doubt be looking for any openings and this is the first major sign from Inter that Bastoni could actually go.
TBR’s View: Bastoni To Tottenham Looking Increasingly Likely
There seems to be more than a glimmer of hope here for Tottenham when it comes to signing Bastoni. What had looked like being an impossible deal at one point seems to be edging along nicely.
Inter needs to sell this summer and it appears that Bastoni is going to the front of the queue of players they’re willing to let go to balance the books.
For Tottenham, this might be the big opening they need. £60m is a lot of money but Champions League football brings extra funds, and the club needs to back Conte this summer fully.
