Albert Sambi Lokonga posts seven-word reaction to Arsenal transfer news from last week
Albert Sambi Lokonga has wished Joe Willock luck after his departure from Arsenal to join Newcastle United was confirmed last week.
On the way
Willock was officially unveiled as a Newcastle player on Sunday, as he was paraded around St. James’ Park.
And Lokonga was quick to wish his former Arsenal teammate the best in the North East.
Is Alex Ferguson To Blame For Manchester United’s Demise?
Lokonga had actually only played with Willock for a few weeks, before the midfielder’s departure.
But, rather unbelievably, they appear to have some knowledge of each other from their younger years.
Lokonga dug out an image of him playing against Willock when they were both very young.
And wrote; “Good luck bro, the world is small’.
One in, one out at Arsenal
Lokonga’s arrival may actually have been part of the reason why Arsenal were wiling to sanction Willock’s exit.
While the pair are different types of players, Lokonga joining just made it even more difficult for Willock to break into Mikel Arteta’s side.
The 22-year-old should receive regular game time at Newcastle though, after impressing there on loan last year.
