Tottenham Hotspur may have made two signings already this month, but the big story around Spurs has been their pursuit of Conor Gallagher.
The Chelsea midfielder has been named as one of Spurs’ top targets this January, and while no move has come to fruition yet, there could still be a twist in this tale.
Indeed, according to Alasdair Gold, speaking on his YouTube channel, you can’t rule out a very late move for Gallagher from Tottenham right up until the transfer window has closed.

Gallagher to Tottenham could happen at the last minute
Gold shared what he knows about the £40m man.
“There’s still the midfield suggestion. I don’t think you could rule out until the window closes, Conor Gallagher, particularly with the Chelsea scenario and their issues with FFP. Everything points towards him not moving, but clubs are so petrified right now about FFP rules that you could see a panic sale towards the end of this window, I’m not saying it’s to Spurs, but you could see a massive sale at the end of this window,” Gold said.
One final twist
The January transfer window needs one final twist if it’s to be remembered at all, and this could be it.
Make no mistake about it, this window is on track to be one of the worst in Premier League history, and it does feel like there must be a late twist coming somewhere.
Gallagher to Spurs has been discussed all month long, and there’s still this nagging feeling that this move could genuinely come off before the deadline.
Of course, if Tottenham do want to get this deal done, they will need to get a move on as there’s not long to go before the deadline, but as we’ve seen before, it doesn’t take long for these wheels to start to turn into motion if a deal is there to be struck.
