Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season preparations are well and truly underway.
While many of Spurs’ key players are yet to return after Euro 2024 and Copa America, Tottenham do have a group back at Hotspur Way plugging away.
Spurs played a behind closed doors friendly against Cambridge United over the weekend, and among the goalscorers in the 7-2 win was Mikey Moore.
Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Moore’s development, and he says that people within Spurs keep telling him that the teenager will play way more than people expect this season.
Mikey Moore will get minutes this season
Gold shared what he knows about the youngster.
“Mikey Moore getting a goal which is no bad thing whatsoever. I keep getting told that he’s going to get more minutes than we actually expect this season, which is great. He’ll be he go to young player and a very talented one at that as well,” Gold said.

Moore is a top prospect
Mikey Moore is a top prospect, and the fact that Spurs are looking to give him more minutes this season bodes well.
Not only will this help Moore develop on a personal level, it should also help Spurs bat away any interest in the teenager.
PSG have recently been credited with an interest in Moore, and while many players would have their head turned by these sorts of rumours, Moore may be keen to stay if he’s afforded a route into the first-team.
Tottenham have so many talented young players breaking through at the moment such as Jamie Donley, Ashley Phillips and Alfie Dorrington, but Moore may well be the jewel in the crown of Spurs’ academy.
It’s exciting to ponder just how far this young man could go, and we’re surely going to see glimpses of his brilliance this season.
