Tottenham have so many talented young players on their books at the moment.

The likes of Pape Sarr and Destiny Udogie are already starring at first-team level, while Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall could be brilliant new additions this summer.

There are also some brilliant talents within Spurs’ academy with the likes of Jamie Donley and Mikey Moore being tipped for big things.

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Will Lankshear’s potential and how he is viewed within Spurs.

The journalist says that Ange Postecoglou is a fan of Lankshear, claiming that there is a lot of hope for the striker within the academy setup.

Tottenham have high hopes for Will Lankshear

Gold shared what he knows about the 19-year-old.

“It’s an interesting one with Will Lankshear. I think Ange likes him, but not to the degree where he’s really got him involved yet.

“He hasn’t been in and around the squads yet as a lot of the other young players have. He just needs something to go his way, whether it’s training with Ange and showing there’s more to his game, I think he has to do something more to catch Ange’s eye, but there’s a lot of hope for him in the academy as well.”

Lankshear looks very talented

It’s early days, but it has to be said that Will Lankshear looks a talent.

The 19-year-old has been banging in the goals at youth level – netting 25 times across all competitions for Tottenham’s U21s last year.

That sort of goal return isn’t to be sniffed at regardless of the level he’s playing, and there’s plenty of reason to be excited about what this young man will be able to do in the coming years.

Lankshear still has a long way to go, but if all goes to plan, he could be an important player for Spurs in a few years’ time.
