Alasdair Gold has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur fans will see “plenty of variety” in set-pieces this season.
Spurs appointed Gianni Vio as a specialist set-piece coach last month.
The 69-year-old joined Tottenham from the Italy national team setup, having helped them win Euro 2020 last year.

Indeed, The Athletic described Vio as “Italy’s secret weapon” in June 2021.
Vio has previously worked for a host of Italian clubs, including Fiorentina and AC Milan, as well as Brentford and Leeds.
The banker-turned-coach claims to have no fewer than 4,830 set-piece routines in his repertoire.
In Gold’s latest football.london fan Q&A, he was asked whether Antonio Conte would question why Kane is on ‘shooting’ free kicks.
The Tottenham correspondent replied: “Gianni Vio is at the club now and working on set-pieces with the team.
“So we’ll see plenty of variety with the free-kicks and corners in the weeks and months ahead as they learn what he wants and he fits his 4,830 different routines to them.
“Kane will take some, he did score in pre-season albeit via a deflection. But plenty of others will take them as well.
“I’d like to see Son and Dier take more of the direct ones.”
Tottenham certainly needed a set-piece coach ahead of the new season.
And now, they’ve got one of the best in the business.
Manchester City and Liverpool were the top two goalscorers from dead-ball situations last season.
However, Spurs ranked only 14th.
Tottenham were also vulnerable from set-pieces last season.
Four of their five defeats during an inconsistent run across February and March included goals conceded from free kicks or corners.
