West Ham United trio Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek and Craig Dawson have been singled out for praise by Alan Smith ahead of their Premier League weekend game.

David Moyes’ charges have enjoyed an amazing season and, going into matchday 32, remain on course for a top-four finish.

West Ham struck gold in January when they completed the loan signing of Jesse Lingard, who has been sensational since his arrival at the London Stadium.

However, Smith was eager to praise three players who have played a big part throughout the season to keep the Hammers on track for Champions League qualification.

“They just keep on going,” he wrote in the Evening Standard ahead of Saturday’s early kickoff at Newcastle.

“When you thought Declan Rice’s absence might tell, West Ham overpower Wolves with three first-half crackers.

“Then Michail Antonio drops out to leave the team short in attack and another three goals see off Leicester.

“Jesse Lingard, of course, has played a huge part. But this is very much a team effort from David Moyes’s lot.

“Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek, Craig Dawson — they are all producing the goods to keep those improbable Champions League dreams very much alive.”

Following West Ham’s relegation battle last season, few would have expected the east Londoners to be fourth in the table after 31 games.

Credit to Moyes and his players for how they’ve done so far this season – they’re so close to the finish line now and it would be superb were they to seal a top-four place.
