Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been named in Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week for his performance on Saturday.
Spurs had a tough task ahead of them as Manchester City came to North London but they put in a gritty and clinical display to run out out 2-0 winners.
Son Heung-min broke the deadlock after just five minutes, slotting home after being set up by Tanguy Ndombele, and Kane played a part as he dragged two opponents out of position.
Man City then had a goal ruled out in the first half for a handball in the build-up, before Giovani Lo Celso made it two on 65 minutes with a low finish past Ederson.
Kane also made an instrumental contribution for the second, surging forward from his own half and providing a perfectly weighted diagonal through-ball for his teammate to run onto.
“No goals but another assist makes it nine for the season already,” Shearer wrote on the Premier League website. “He was just too clever for Man City. Man of the match.”
Kane was one of four players in Shearer’s line-up, alongside Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while Spurs boss Jose Mourinho was named Manager of the Week.

It’s frightening and exciting to see just how Kane is developing under Mourinho – not only is his goal tally as good as ever, but his assist tally is also going right up, while his overall play is simply superb and getting better and better.
The 27-year-old is one of the best players in the world, no question, and with Spurs top of the table and still competing on all four fronts, hopefully this is the season where the club and national talisman can finally lift some major silverware.
