Alan Shearer stunned by what could happen to player Tottenham sold in 2023

Alan Shearer has been speaking about Harry Kane – who Tottenham sold in 2023 – as Bayern Munich continue to struggle in the Bundesliga.

The 53-year-old made the comments when chatting to Gary Lineker on The Rest Is Football podcast.

So, what did Alan Shearer say about Harry Kane? Let’s take a look…

What Shearer said about Kane

Well, the England international – presumably – thought the Bundesliga title was a certainty when he sealed an £86m move to Bayern Munich back in August 2023.

The German giants have won the last 11 Bundesliga titles in a row, so Kane – who has remarkably never won any silverware throughout his career – may have expected to secure the trophy in his debut campaign at the Allianz Arena.

However – in a dramatic sequence of events – Bayern Munich are currently five points behind Bayer Leverkusen as Xabi Alonso steers his side towards a maiden Bundesliga title.

Speaking about this bizarre situation, Shearer told Lineker: “I’m thinking about Harry Kane again. We shouldn’t laugh at the situation but 11 consecutive titles and he goes there – can you imagine him not winning the title? There is a real possibility now.”

Whatever you think of the 30-year-old, it would be hard not to feel sorry for him if Bayern Munich end up missing out on the Bundesliga title.

Kane has remarkably scored 28 goals in 28 appearances so far this season – while also providing eight assists – so nobody can accuse him of not pulling his weight.

Tottenham have buyback clause

If Kane – who has recently reunited with Eric Dier in Munich – does miss out on the Bundesliga title and grows frustrated under Thomas Tuchel, Spurs could bring him home.

Daniel Levy confirmed back in September when speaking to fans that Tottenham did negotiate a buyback clause in the agreement with Bayern Munich, as detailed by the Guardian.

Therefore, Kane could still write more chapters in his story with Spurs.
