Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson have been named in Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week.
Both players have been struggling for form recently, but they looked back to their best in the victory over Aston Villa at the weekend.
Alexander-Arnold put his off day against Real Madrid firmly behind him at Anfield as he helped Jurgen Klopp’s side to a 2-1 win over the Villans.

Aside from looking better defensively, the England international was also a big threat in attack, and capped it off by scoring a superb injury-time winner.
Robertson, meanwhile, played a big part in Liverpool’s equaliser, making a surging 40-yard run and whipping the ball across the face of goal.
Although Emiliano Martinez made a strong save, Mohamed Salah was there to get to the ball first and head home to cancel out Ollie Watkins’ opener.
As a result, the two full-backs were named in Shearer’s XI, the only two Reds players to make the cut.
Alexander-Arnold “came up with the decisive moment of quality just when Liverpool needed it,” wrote Shearer. “That’s a big goal in the top-four fight.”
On Robertson, he said: “Normal service has resumed for both Liverpool full-backs, with Robertson playing a key role in Mohamed Salah’s equaliser.”
Up next for Liverpool is Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid at Anfield, before returning to league action away at Leeds United next Monday.
