Alan Shearer says there is more to come from Leeds striker Patrick Bamford

Alan Shearer was blown away by the weekend performance from Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford.

The 27-year-old striker helped Leeds record arguably their best result of the season, as they beat in-form Leicester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.

Bamford, who earns £35,000-a-week (Spotrac), scored an unstoppable left-footed finish that he rifled into the top corner.

The English centre-forward was full of his usual energy and movement, plus he added the touch of class with his goal.

Shearer included the Whites attacker in his team of the week, stating that his display had a bit of everything.

“This was a brilliant centre-forward’s performance which had everything. Eleven goals in the Premier League is a great return so far, and there are certainly more to come!” Shearer told the Premier League’s official website.

TBR’s View:

Despite having plenty of doubters going into the season, Bamford has proven he’s the right man to be leading the line at Elland Road.

He’s now scored 11 goals and supplied five assists in 20 league games this season.

Bamford is proving he’s a top-flight quality forward that can hurt defences, which is why his £10million signing (BBC) back in 2018 is now looking like an inspired piece of transfer business.

There are plenty that are now suggesting he should earn a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad, but the competition in front area of the pitch is extremely tough.
