Alan Shearer has told Match of the Day that Son Heung-min has been absolutely phenomenal for Tottenham Hotspur this season as the forward picked up the Premier League Golden Boot on the final day of the campaign.
Spurs rounded off the season in some style. Antonio Conte’s men needed just a point to ensure that they booked their ticket to next year’s Champions League.

Thankfully, Tottenham dealt with the pressure and thrashed Norwich 5-0 at Carrow Road. The emphatic win also proved to be significant for Son. The South Korean went into the final day one goal behind Mohamed Salah at the top of the goalscoring charts.
Salah would get one as Liverpool attempted to make one last push for the Premier League title. But Son was able to catch him with a brace, which included one stunning strike.

Son has been unbelievable in recent months. He ended the season with 12 goals in his last 10 games. It had seemed that Salah would walk to the honour. But ultimately, Son caught him with an amazing run.
And Shearer suggested that the 29-year-old has been Tottenham’s player of the season as he lauded the forward for his achievement.
“He’s been absolutely phenomenal,” he told Match of the Day. “The understanding he has with Harry Kane, and that front three of them have really, really done well. He’s been one of the players of the season.
“His finishing’s been superb, his link-up play, what he’s offered Tottenham going forward. You’ve got half a chance, haven’t you, when you’ve got those three in your team. But he’s been the best of them, he’s been phenomenal. What a finish that is, what a season.”
Son phenomenal for Tottenham
Tottenham have a really exciting future ahead as things stand. Should they keep Conte, Kane and Son, they have the foundations in place to really kick on and achieve something special.
They showed glimpses of their potential a few years ago under Mauricio Pochettino. And they got so close to crossing the line.
Conte is a serial-winner. And Kane and Son are arguably playing as well as they ever have. Meanwhile, they have Dejan Kulusevski, Cristian Romero and others threatening to become world-class players.
Their ceiling may well be seriously high.
