Alan Shearer has waxed lyrical about Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, deeming him “exceptional”.
The 23-year-old is one of the best right-backs in world football.
Alexander-Arnold has already made over 200 competitive Reds appearances.

In addition, he has won the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Supercup and Club World Cup.
Alexander-Arnold has also won 16 caps for England, though he missed Euro 2020 due to injury.
This season, the Liverpool academy graduate has clocked up 16 assists from 30 competitive Reds appearances.
“Plenty of licence to get forward”
Shearer, speaking on Rising Stars on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, named Alexander-Arnold on his latest Rising Stars watchlist.
“He’s already into double figures for assists this season averaging one every two matches and he creates a chance every 30 minutes,” said the Premier League legend.
“Impressive stats for a defender.
“Under Jurgen Klopp he has plenty of licence to get forward… his vision combined with an ability to pick out a pass is exceptional.”
Alexander-Arnold is likely to start for Liverpool against Chelsea in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are still in contention for all four trophies this season.
Liverpool are still in the Premier League race as well as the two domestic cups and the Champions League.
“He’s getting better and better”
Speaking to Amazon Prime after Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Everton in December, Andrew Robertson lauded Alexander-Arnold.
“Trent is an unbelievable footballer and he’s getting better and better,” said Robertson.
“If I can be a small part of his progression, then I’ll be that because I do push him and I want him to get better.”
