Tottenham Hotspur have been much better this season.

The north London club were dire towards the end of last term under Ryan Mason and Cristian Stellini, and when Harry Kane left the club, many feared the worst.

However, the appointment of Ange Postecoglou combined with some smart summer signings has helped Spurs improve ten-fold this term, and some of Tottenham’s key players have got a lot better as well.

Speaking on the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Alan Shearer has been discussing Heung-Min Son this season, and he says that the 31-year-old has actually improved a lot this term compared to last time around.

Heung-Min Son has improved

Shearer spoke about Son and his improvements this season.

“He’s got better this season as well you know. He must’ve thought when Harry left ‘ooh’, but there was a chance for him and everyone to step up, and he has done, he’s been amazing,” Shearer said.

Heung-Min Son needed Ange Postecoglou

Son is perhaps the player who has benefitted the most from the appointment of Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian’s style of play suits Son to a tee. It’s all about attacking, getting in behind and scoring goals.

Under Antonio Conte, Son looked as though he really wasn’t enjoying his football and his goal return last season really wasn’t up to scratch.

However, this term, Son has looked back to his electric best, and dare we say that he looks as though he’s playing his best football of his career this season.

Son needed something different at Spurs this season to rediscover his best level, and Postecoglou was the perfect manager to get the best out of the South Korean again.

We’re so glad to see Son playing his best football again, and we can only hope this continues into next season.
