England and Newcastle legend, Alan Shearer, has picked both Gareth Bale and Harry Kane in his latest Premier League Team of the Week.

Shearer regularly selects his best XI of a match week for the official Premier League website. Spurs are no strangers to having players in there, with the likes of Kane, Son, and Hojbjerg regular fixtures this season.

However, the inclusion of Bale this week by Shearer is a fresh one. The Welsh winger has come to life in recent weeks and his double at the weekend put a further seal on what has been a marked improvement by the Madrid loanee.

And that was something Shearer pointed out in his selection, as he claimed Spurs now have a different player altogether on their hands.

“Two more goals and looking like a different player now,” Shearer commented to justify his selection of Bale.

Bale’s return to form is a huge boost for Jose Mourinho and Spurs in the end of season run-in. Having struggled for fitness and regular minutes, the club are finally seeing the trio of Bale, Kane, and Son who so many were excited by earlier in the summer.

While January was quiet for Spurs, the end of February and into March has felt like the club have made a big signing anyway, such has been Bale’s impact.

Nobody ever doubted he had world-class ability in the locker. The key was getting it out of him.

And Jose Mourinho seems to have done that of late. Bale is fit, firing, and looking in great nick. Spurs, then, go into the final ten games or so in a confident mood given the form of their Welsh wizard.
