Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Watford this afternoon as their poor Premier League form continued under Steve Bruce this term.
Despite taking the lead through Sean Longstaff, the Hornets equalised through the in-form Ismaila Sarr and could have won it, when VAR disallowed a late Josh King effort.

For Newcastle, it was another afternoon of frustration and annoyance.
The Toon squandered a number of good chances and were once again made to suffer as Sarr got the equaliser. And while those inside St James’ Park were also annoyed, former striker and club legend Alan Shearer was equally as frustrated as he took to Twitter.
Newcastle remain winless and just above the Premier League relegation zone this season. Once again, it’s looking like being a long old season for Steve Bruce.
TBR’s View: Not a lot Bruce can do at times with Newcastle misfiring
While Bruce is the manager and rightly has to take responsibility, so do his players as well. Chance after chance went begging today, and there is not a lot the manager can do about that.
The Magpies players need to start taking some chances. Allan Saint-Maximin looks a constant threat. But other than that, others in the starting XI don’t seem to be adding much threat.
For Newcastle, they need to start stepping up to the plate. Six games now without a win is a miserable start to the campaign. If it carries on much longer, then there’s the risk of rot setting in.
