Alan Shearer named four Tottenham stars in his Team of the Week for the latest round of Premier League fixtures, after the club’s impressive victory over Arsenal.

Spurs produced a perfect counter-attacking performance to beat North London rivals Arsenal 2-0 at home in the league meeting.

Jose Mourinho’s side kept their spot at the top of the Premier League table with another three points and remain above reigning champions Liverpool on goal difference.

Hojbjerg, who cost £15million (Sky Sports) from Southampton in the summer, is a defensive midfielder that continued his strong form this season by shining against Arsenal.

The 25-year-old sat in front of the back four breaking up play and giving the team a real defensive shape, something he’s done all campaign to make him a real favourite of the manager.

Shearer picked Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Hojbjerg in his Team of the Week, as well as picking Mourinho as his standout manager.

“A leader and a warrior, he protected his defence brilliantly again,” Shearer said about Hojbjerg, as quoted by the Premier League’s official website.

TBR’s View:

Hojbjerg rightfully deserves credit for yet another disciplined performance, but in truth the entire team defended superbly well against Arsenal and it was yet another example of how Mourinho has influenced his current group of players.

They have kept four consecutive clean sheets in their last four Premier League games and the unselfish role that Hojbjerg does in the midfield is vital.

Meanwhile, Spurs deserve to be mentioned as possible title contenders when they’ve got attackers Son and Kane performing like they are doing right now.
