West Ham United defender Craig Dawson has been named in Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week.
The 30-year-old defender has been in simply sensational form for the Hammers this season, helping David Moyes’ side remain in contention for a Champions League spot.
Dawson linked up with the Hammers on a season-long loan from Watford in October, with an option to buy.

Although Dawson didn’t feature in a senior West Ham game until their last Premier League fixture of 2020, he’s been one of the first names on Moyes’ team sheet ever since.
To date, the £40,000-a-week star has made 14 competitive appearances for the East Londoners, putting in plenty of superb defensive displays and also scoring four goals in all competitions.
Dawson’s latest goal came in Monday night’s 2-0 Premier League win over Leeds to make sure of all three points, as well as keeping Marcelo Bielsa’s swashbuckling side at bay.
As a result, he was named in Shearer’s latest TOTW, the only West Ham player to make the cut.
“Brilliant again, scoring his third (PL) goal of the season and making a superb goalline clearance,” wrote the Premier League legend.

What more can be said about Dawson that hasn’t been said already? He’s been an absolutely magnificent signing for West Ham.
Even better for Hammers fans, The Times have claimed that the club is expected to trigger the permanent clause in Dawson’s loan-to-buy move.
The figure is believed to be a mere £2million, which if true, would constitute one of the biggest bargains in recent Premier League history.
