On the back of another damaging loss against Liverpool, Alan Shearer was left very frustrated with two Arsenal players.
Mikel Arteta’s side have slumped two three defeats in a row despite playing well for large parts of two of those games.

Arsenal’s players simply haven’t been able to finish their chances, with each forward as guilty as each other.
Bukayo Saka is the only player to net in those three games, with his instinctive finish eventually counting for nothing at Fulham.
But with a focus on the game against Liverpool, Alan Shearer was particularly frustrated with Arsenal players Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz.
Speaking via The Athletic, the prolific striker couldn’t wrap his head around their reluctance to shoot.
Shearer said: “Twice, Havertz wanted an extra touch instead of hitting it first time.
“Martin Odegaard did something similar when he chose to pass instead of shoot. Hit it, man; just hit it!
“The best example of what Arsenal were missing, of what they weren’t doing, came with Liverpool’s second goal, when Luis Diaz simply moved the ball from under his feet and then smacked it in — a great finish.”

It simply just seems to be a confidence issue at Arsenal right now.
Perhaps the side’s creativity and all round play has been better than in some recent wins in these games.

However, with Arteta relying on a collective effort to provide goals in his squad this season, there’s no one to bail the side out when things aren’t working.
Micah Richards has now suggested that Arsenal push the boat out for a £120m striker as soon as possible – a signing that could prove transformative.
But with it looking like Arsenal will be quiet in January – there’s simply said to be no funds available, Shearer is right to point out where the Arsenal players can improve.
There’s no doubt that Mikel Arteta will feel similar, he can’t be enjoying any second of this barren run.
Perhaps Kai Havertz still is the man to dig Arsenal out of this slump whilst Gabriel Jesus is missing, his performance still had a lot of promise.
But for now, it doesn’t seem as if the desire for a new striker among Arsenal fans will relent any time soon.
And there’s certainly no doubt that the likes of £30m Martin Odegaard will need to contribute goals more regularly.
