Everton won out at Liverpool this evening as they saw off Jurgen Klopp’s men 2-0 at Anfield, and Alan Shearer lauded three Toffees stars for their ‘outstanding’ performance.

Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson were the men to get the goals. However, the win for Everton was built on solid defensive foundations, with Carlo Ancelotti setting his defence a clear game plan to snuff out the Reds.
And it worked a treat, with a well-earned clean sheet to take home and three huge points in the bag to go alongside it.
So impressive was the performance of Everton’s backline, that Premier League record goalscorer Alan Shearer took to Twitter to sing the praises of three Toffees stars in particular.
The defensive trio were, as Shearer says, outstanding in their performance. Keane, in particular, put in a number of fine challenges and really rose to the occasion on Merseyside.
Everton are now firmly in the hunt for Europe and could well finish above their local rivals with a good end to the season.
TBR View: All three excellent for Everton, Godfrey is proving a great buy
Some people will have raised their eyebrows when Everton spent big on Ben Godfrey in the summer, but he’s proving to be a superb signing.
He’s played all across the back four and is growing in stature with each passing week. Holgate and Keane, meanwhile, were excellent themselves and once again demonstrated their importance to the Everton cause.
Things are really looking up for the Toffees as things stand, and Carlo Ancelotti deserves so much credit.
