Alan Shearer heaps praise on Declan Rice following West Ham’s latest win

Alan Shearer has lauded Declan Rice after he starred for West Ham United in the 3-0 win over Leicester City.

The Hammers stunned the Foxes at the King Power Stadium on Sunday to record back-to-back victories in the Premier League.

The 4-0 win over Wolves was hugely impressive, and fans were delighted to see that result followed up against a side that had a 100% record before kick-off.

The Hammers may have scored three goals, but the team was particularly impressive in the defensive phase, with Leicester not having a single shot on target.

Sitting just in front of the defence as he does, Rice was solid for the visitors, snuffing out attacks and recycling possession efficiently.

His performance caught the eye of Match of the Day pundit Shearer, who included the star in his Premier League Team of the Week.

He said (official Premier League): “Immense. Tackling, vision, positioning. His performance had everything.”

TBR’s View – West Ham keeping Rice absolutely massive

There would have been hell to pay had the club sanctioned an exit for Rice yesterday, but thankfully for supporters Rice is still a Hammer.

Amid links to Chelsea, keeping him was vital and he will hopefully be able to produce the king of performance he put in at Leicester on a regular basis.
