Alan Shearer has identified why Liverpool's Mohamed Salah is misfiring

Liverpool fans remain optimistic of their hopes for the Premier League title, but their recent blip has coincided with a goal drought for forward Mohamed Salah, who has scored just once in his last seven games.

“Mo Salah’s form has to be a huge concern for Liverpool right now. The two big chances against Everton fell to him — just like Jurgen Klopp would have wanted. But his touch let him down both times and he blew the opportunity to score,” pundit Alan Shearer told The Sun.

“Salah seems to be lacking confidence and is showing a few signs of nerves. And that is really worrying for the Reds at such a crucial time of the season.”

The former Blackburn and Newcastle striker is a Premier League legend who knows all about scoring goals in the competition, and clearly feels that he knows why the Egyptian is so far from his best.

What Jurgen Klopp and co. can do to turn Salah’s form around remains a mystery, with it likely that Salah just needs a lucky break to come his way to boost his confidence once again.

Until then, Shearer will be watching on knowing that his first touch and his attitude when in goalscoring positions could be a real indicator for when Salah may get back to his best.
