People often forget that Meslier is still only 22 years old.

The Frenchman has been Leeds’ main man in goal for a while now, and he has impressed on numerous occasions. Yes, he makes a few mistakes at times, but his potential is massive, and he showed how good he can be at Anfield.

Meslier made nine saves in total against Liverpool on Saturday. He punched the ball to safety on three occasions, made a high claim and also registered four clearances. He earned a 9/10 rating for his stunning display on SofaScore.

Shearer, who watched the game, was thoroughly impressed. He believes. Meslier was the Man of the Match and labelled the array of saves he pulled off against Liverpool as ‘brilliant’.

He wrote on the Premier League’s official website: “Man of the match.

“An array of brilliant saves set his side on the way to victory at Liverpool.”

Leeds went into the game against Liverpool on the back of four consecutive defeats.

The last place you usually would want to go to when you’re desperate for a win is Anfield under the lights, but Jesse Marsch’s side went there and did something they hadn’t done in over two decades – beat Liverpool

Rodrigo and Summerville deserve a lot of credit for their goals. Their contribution cannot be forgotten, but Meslier was definitely the main man and the biggest reason why Liverpool lost at Anfield on Saturday.

Leeds take on Bournemouth next and a win there could potentially push them as high as 11th in the table. Meslier will once again have to step up to help his side get over the line.
