Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey was the star of the show as Unai Emery’s side picked up a very impressive 3-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday

The Villans have begun a new era under the Spaniard, and he couldn’t have hoped for a better start. Villa were absolutely outstanding against Erik Ten Hag’s side and completely deserved all three points.

Ramsey had managed just one goal and one assist since the start of the campaign before the game against Manchester United. He matched that tally on Sunday.

The 21-year-old was outstanding. He was involved in almost everything, including Manchester United’s goal, where his unfortunate deflection gave them a way back into the game.

However, he ended the Red Devils’ hopes with a fine strike just after half-time, and that put the game to bed.

Shearer was really impressed with Ramsey’s performance. The youngster was named in the Premier League team of the week, and the legendary pundit claimed that Manchester United just couldn’t handle his clever runs.

He wrote about Ramsey on the Premier League’s official website: “Rewarded Emery’s faith in him with a man-of-the-match performance. 

“Man Utd couldn’t handle his clever movement.”

The 21-year-old’s performance in his new boss’ first game in charge was a massive positive. He was everywhere and tormented the visitors from start to finish.
