Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior has made it into Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week.
The 24-year-old Gunners ace delivered a solid performance to help Mikel Arteta’s side hammer Burnley 5-0 at the weekend.
Kiwior joined Arsenal in January 2023 from Italian outfit Spezia for a reported £20million fee. He has made 28 appearances to date for the Gunners.
It hasn’t been plain sailing for the Poland international. He previously struggled at Arsenal, which led to some criticism and speculation over his future.
However, since Arteta has stopped asking Kiwior to invert, he has been much more effective, and this was on show at the weekend.

On top of defending really well against Burnley, Kiwior helped create the fourth goal with a run forward and assisted the fifth with a quick long throw.
Shearer liked what he saw from the Arsenal defender and named him in his XI as one of three Gunners players alongside Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.
“Best display of the season,” Shearer wrote on the Premier League website. “He is really coming into his own at left-back.”
Jakub Kiwior likely to start for Arsenal against Porto
The Evening Standard recently reported that, after starting consecutive league games, Kiwior is likely to continue at left-back for Arsenal.
The Gunners are next in action on Wednesday night when they play away at Porto in their Champions League last-16 first leg.
It’s great when things finally start to click for a player who was previously struggling and receiving criticism.
Now, it looks like Arteta finally has an ideal solution at left-back, and let’s hope that things continue on the right track for player and club.
