Alan Shearer has urged West Ham United to stick by David Moyes despite a heavy defeat to Arsenal.
West Ham suffered a 6-0 defeat at home to Mikel Arteta’s side on Sunday. The Hammers were booed off the pitch at halftime as they headed into the break 4-0 down after a lacklustre display.
David Moyes’ men didn’t improve in the second half either as they went on to ship another two goals and in truth, Arsenal should have had more than six on the day.
The West Ham players left the pitch to boos from the home supporters, although many decided to leave the game before full-time.
Despite increased pressure from the West Ham faithful, some expect Moyes to remain at the London Stadium for the time being.
And Alan Shearer believes the Hammers should stick by the Scotsman, despite a humiliating defeat over the weekend.

Shearer urges West Ham not to sack Moyes
Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Shearer was asked about Moyes’ immediate future following Sunday’s defeat.
“You know sometimes it’s better the devil you know, I think,” Shearer said. “Be careful what you wish for.
“They’ll be hurting and they’ll be hurting for a while after that performance and result. There will be a lot of anger around.
“As hard as it will be, try and look at the bigger picture with West Ham. They’re in eighth position, and got that trophy. I’m not sure they can go any higher than where they are.
“They’ve spent their money really well that they had for Declan. I’m a fan and I know people will argue against him but I like Moyes. He’s shown great character, he’s been around the block and knows what he’s doing.
“I think if they can park that result to one side and try to look at the bigger picture. I’m all for David Moyes.”

West Ham are going through a difficult run of form at the moment and are yet to win a game in 2024.
The Hammers have also conceded 12 goals in their last four games in the league.
Moyes has faced criticism from the West Ham supporters over his pragmatic style of football. And now results aren’t going his way, it’s no surprise to see fans becoming frustrated.
Nevertheless, West Ham remain in a decent position in the league and have some winnable games to come over the next few weeks.
