On Saturday, Newcastle United triumphed in arguably one of the most exciting and dramatic Premier League games of the season.
The Magpies hosted West Ham United at St James’ Park in the day’s early kick-off, and things weren’t going to plan for Eddie Howe’s side.
Newcastle took the lead early on through Alexander Isak’s penalty, but Michail Antonio restored parity for the Hammers on 21 minutes.
Mohammed Kudus then put West Ham ahead in first-half injury time before Jarrod Bowen made it 3-1 to the visitors in the 48th minute.
Newcastle had to wait until the 77th minute to score again, Isak converting another penalty to give the Magpies a fighting chance.
And then, Newcastle substitute Harvey Barnes turned the game around completely for the hosts, scoring in the 83rd and 90 minutes.
The Magpies finished the game with ten men after Anthony Gordon picked up a second yellow card for kicking the ball away, but they held on for a 4-3 win.

Alan Shearer names the Newcastle talent who ‘contributed a lot’ to win over West Ham
Although Isak and Barnes took the spotlight with the braces, Lewis Hall received praise from Alan Shearer for his great display off the bench.
Newcastle World gave the 19-year-old substitute an 8 out of 10 rating and wrote: ‘An exceptional display from the young left-back.
‘Looked like a player with fire in his belly and with a point to prove. He certainly did that.’
Shearer, speaking to Premier League Productions after the match, gave his verdict on the Newcastle performance and singled Hall out for praise.
“I don’t know where to start other than incredible game, incredible atmosphere,” Shearer said after the seven-goal thriller.
“End-to-end. Some great performances. It was an incredible game. We thought there would be goals but we didn’t think it would be this exciting.”
Shearer went on to say: “Eddie had to change it round. He had to make some substitutions to change it round. It was flat, everything was negative, no confidence.
“You have to mention Barnes for the goals. But Lewis Hall, the energy he brought down the left-hand side, getting forward, quick play, quick touches. He contributed a lot to it as well.”
Hall has followed up his two assists for England Under-20s in midweek with a superb display in which he made some great inverted runs and showcased his technical skills. Kudus couldn’t cope with him.
The Chelsea loanee will surely fancy his chances of breaking into the Newcastle starting XI for the run-in.
