Rangers star Steven Davis put pen to paper on Saturday by signing a new contract at Ibrox.
The Gers confirmed on their official website that the central midfielder has penned a fresh one-year contract extension to keep him at the club until 2022.
Despite turning 36 in January, the Northern ireland international has been an instrumental part of the team that has won the Scottish league title this season.
Davis has played 40 games across all competitions so far this campaign, and is showing no signs of slowing down.
The defensive midfielder is so influential in the centre of the park, setting the tone for others around him with his passing, energy and leadership.
Ex-Rangers duo Kenny Miller and Alan Hutton both reacted on Instagram to the contract news by suggesting Gers teammate Allan McGregor should follow suit with a new deal.
Rangers goalkeeper, 39, is out of contract as it stands despite being one of the key figures on the pitch this year at Ibrox.
If you’re good enough, it doesn’t matter what age you are.
Davis has throughly deserved a new contract to keep with the Scottish giants for another season, as he’s one of the go-to men that usually delivers to the highest standard for manager Steven Gerrard.
McGregor is another that very much falls into that category, so it’s no surprise to hear people asking for him to also sign a new deal.
