Ajax defender and reported Liverpool target, Perr Schuurs, has insisted he isn’t working on engineering a move away yet, amid reports of interest from Anfield.
Schuurs is reportedly a target for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. Corriere dello Sport claims a £27m deal could be on the cards, should Liverpool choose to pursue the youngster in January.

However, after featuring for Ajax last night in the defeat to Klopp’s men, Schuurs insisted his sole focus is on the Dutch giants as things stand, rather than a move elsewhere.
“I hear and read it [Liverpool rumours] too. It’s my first season as a regular at Ajax. I want to play here for a few more seasons and win prizes. I’m not really working on that yet,” Schuurs said. (Quotes via the Mirror)
Schuurs put in a decent enough display at Anfield last night to do his chances of impressing those at Liverpool little harm. However, Curtis Jones’ finish from Andre Onana’s error meant Ajax left Merseyside empty-handed.

The 21-year-old has been a regular this season and has apparently been identified by the powers that be at Liverpool as the ideal signing to step in for the injured Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

And that would be the issue facing the youngster if a concrete bid did come in for him. How do you turn down the Premier League champions and one of the best managers in world football?
The answer is, he probably doesn’t.
This one will probably rumble on for a bit for now but as for his performances, Schuurs did little to put anyone off last night.
