Undoubtedly one of the most talented players in the Sunderland squad and possessing far too much quality to belong in League One, Aiden McGeady has taken his time to get going in the third tier.
Now firing on all cylinders with three goals in his past two games, Sunderland may have the boost that they need to drive them to the top of the table as Jack Ross and co. aim for promotion at the first time of asking.
The 32-year-old had missed the start of the season and it was not until his rifle finish against Southend at the Stadium of Light that he broke his duck for the campaign.

It appears to have given him the confidence boost that he was after and he followed it up with a well taken brace against relegation battlers Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, converting one coolly from the penalty spot.
Ross will need to rely upon the players like McGeady in his squad who possess so much quality in order to fire the club back to where it believes it belongs.
McGeady may have taken his time to find his form, but now that he has, he is one of the most valuable assets in the Black Cats’ squad.
