Rangers have been heavily linked with Motherwell starlet Jake Hastie in the past few weeks. According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are set to sign Hastie on a pre-contract agreement after offering him a four-year deal at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard is scouring the Scottish market for the best young talents and Hastie fits the bill. Since returning from his loan spell at Alloa Athletic, the 19-year-old winger has scored six goals in nine matches.
Hastie’s stock has risen dramatically over the past few weeks as he has earned a Scotland under-21 call-up and his fragile contract situation has become exposed.
But while Rangers are in the habit of finding talented young Scotsmen, perhaps it is time to reignite their interest in Partick Thistle wonder-kid Aidan Fitzpatrick.

Back in mid-January, The Daily Express (via The Scottish Sun) reported that Norwich City and Rangers were trying to sign Fitzpatrick for £400,000.
The 17-year-old is already a permanent fixture in the Thistle first-team and he sent a timely reminder to Rangers scouts last week by scoring a late winner against Dundee United.
It was the Scotland under-18 starlet’s seventh goal in 23 games for the Scottish Championship side, underlining his exciting ability.
If Rangers miss out on Hastie, Fitzpatrick could be an exciting alternative. Or better still, the Gers could sign both of them to provide long-term options on the flanks.
