Sergio Aguero will be rested for Manchester City’s next two matches in order to make sure he’s fit to face Tottenham in the Champions League quarter-finals next week, according to the Telegraph.
Aguero, who Spotrac report earns £250,000 per week, limped off in the second half of the routine 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday and Pep Guardiola is not willing to take any chances with his fitness.
He will be left out against Cardiff tomorrow night, but City are so keen to make sure he can face Tottenham that he will be rested for the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton on Saturday.
City have done a fantastic job of juggling all the multiple competitions they’re fighting in, and clearly feel that they can navigate an FA Cup semi-final without the man who has netted 27 times this season.

That’s bad news for Tottenham, who look set to face a City side firing on all cylinders and with one of their top players coming off a full week of rest, which is something that has proven to be a rarity in a gruelling season for the reigning champions.
Aguero has enjoyed an outstanding season – he should be in the conversation for PFA Player of the Season – and any hopes Spurs might have held of facing a slightly weakened or fatigued City side look set to be shot.
