The agent of a player reportedly on the radar of Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has dealt a huge blow to the Toffees’ hopes of bringing him to Goodison Park this summer.
According to a report by Area Napoli from the end of March, Everton are interested in making a bid of up €35million (around £31million) for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik.
Milik, who has scored 12 goals in 22 games in all competitions for Napoli this season, is also thought to be on the radar of AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Juventus, according to Goal.com.

Calcio Napoli 24, meanwhile, reported that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were also tracking the player, whose price tag is said to be €45million (around £40million).
With the 26-year-old’s contract at the Stadio San Paolo expiring next summer, it’s little surprise to see clubs linked with him, in particular Everton, managed by the Partenopei’s former head coach.
However, David Pantak – Milik’s agent – insists that his focus is on extending the player’s stay in the Mezzogiorno.
“Regarding everything that’s come out in the media in the past few days, I want to clarify that they’re only rumours, some of them even disrespectful to Napoli as a club,” Pantak told Calciomercato.
“I’m in constant contact with Napoli’s sporting director, our conversations on [Milik’s] renewal have remained active.
“At the end of this difficult period for everyone, we’ll meet and try to find a solution. Only in the event that one can’t be found will we think of a shared solution for the good of the player and club.”
TBR View:
Milik is a high-calibre forward, who boasts numerous qualities including pace, strength, agility, great movement on and off the ball, a powerful shot and an equally strong header.
Ancelotti has praised Milik in the past, calling him “more complete” than Mauro Icardi (Goal.com), while the player himself effectively thanked the Italian for taking Napoli out of Maurizio Sarri’s “strict tactical regime” (Football Italia).
However, with Milik’s agent issuing such a stern rebuke of the transfer speculation geared towards the player, it remains to be seen what Everton’s chances will now be of getting their hands on the 6ft 1in sharpshooter.
