New Tottenham Hotspur signing Radu Dragusin’s agent has claimed that he sees his client at Real Madrid in the next three or four years.

Spurs confirmed the arrival of the Romania international on a long-term deal last night. Tottenham are really excited about what he will bring to the side, but his agent’s comments are slightly concerning.

Agent backs Radu Dragusin to join Real Madrid from Tottenham in three years

Tottenham fans are really excited about Radu Dragusin and rightly so.

Spurs have been forced to use the likes of Emerson Royal and Ben Davies in the heart of their defence when Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been out injured.

The two full-backs have fared pretty well, but it’s not ideal at all to have them playing in an unnatural position, especially in a system that requires a high line.

Now that Dragusin is here, Tottenham have a top-level backup for Romero and Van de Ven, but the 21-year-old Romanian’s agent has suggested that he doesn’t plan on seeing his client stay at Spurs for very long.

Florin Manea has claimed that he sees Dragusin at Real Madrid in three or four years.

He told DigiSport: “We are only at the beginning of the road, we want them to reach the best clubs in the world. We were close, Bayern is among the biggest clubs, but his dream is Real or Barcelona.

“If he was 23-24 years old and had more experience, maybe he would have decided to go to Bayern, but I also took into account the age, the competition, I took into account many things.

Tottenham are viewed as a stepping stone

It really is strange to see an agent pushing his client towards another club at the same time he has secured the biggest move of his career.

This suggests that Dragusin, or his agent at least, views Tottenham as a stepping stone.

That is infuriating if you’re a Spurs fan, but it’s not a bad thing at all. If he really does have Real Madrid in his sights, Dragusin will have to play out of his skin to get to that level.

That will benefit Spurs on the pitch and raise his stock considerably. Even if they have to sell him to Real Madrid in three years, Daniel Levy would be looking at a very healthy profit.
