Donny van de Beek has continually been linked with a move to both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United and now the Ajax midfielder’s agent has given an update to Voetbal International on the player’s future – amid the global health crisis.
Van de Beek, 22, is considered one of Europe’s best midfield talents that is yet to make a big-money move to a European heavyweight. Despite his tender age, the midfielder has clocked up 175 appearances for Ajax.
In that time, van de Beek has scored an impressive 41 goals and created 34 more. This season has seen van de Beek’s best form, in which he has had a hand in 21 goals during his 37 outings. No wonder, then, Goal claim he is worth £47million.
The Sun have claimed as recently as this month that both Tottenham and Manchester United remain keen in van de Beek, but Real Madrid are certainly leading the charge. Van de Beek’s agent, Guido Albers, gave an update on his client’s future.

“What’s going to happen to Donny? Nobody knows at the moment,” Albers told Voetbal International, as quoted by Tribal Football. “The interest, that is known, has been there from several clubs for a long time.
“We will see what will come out in the coming weeks. I dare not say anything about it and can not say anything about it, also because some things are confidential. The situation per club will have changed and we have to look closely at that.”
TBR’s view – Van de Beek would transform Spurs or United
Spurs arguably boast a better central midfield. Though Fred has improved of late and Scott McTominay is showing potential, the likes of Harry Winks, Gio Lo Celso, Moussa Sissoko and others are certainly ahead of United.
However, van de Beek is of the quality that would improve either side in the middle of the park. At a fee less than £50million, he is a bargain in this day and age and such a fee could be even further reduced in the coming months.
