Agent now admits Arsenal’s number one target could leave this summer

Arsenal fans will be feeling hard done by after Bukayo Saka was denied a late penalty against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The England international almost put Arsenal 3-2 ahead with seconds to go before colliding with Manuel Neuer, leaving those inside the Emirates Stadium absolutely furious.

There will also be a number of fans feeling disappointed about the manner of Bayern Munich’s two goals.

Arsenal have been incredibly robust in 2024 so far – conceding just four Premier League goals – although the defending for both goals was very sloppy indeed.

Now – however – there has been a glimmer of good news regarding a man widely considered to be Arsenal‘s No.1 target this summer…

Agent admits Viktor Gyokeres could leave

Well – according to Football Transfers – Arsenal have made Viktor Gyokeres their No.1 target for the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano recently hinted that a meeting was held between the Gunners and Hasan Cetinkaya – the Sweden international’s agent.

Now, the 47-year-old has made some quite revealing comments about Gyokeres – amid strong rumours that his manager at Sporting CP, Ruben Amorim, is close to joining Liverpool.

Cetinkaya told A Bola: “I’m not surprised that Ruben is being linked to Liverpool. It’s normal, his work is of a high level, it’s what the clubs are looking for. Yes, it will be more difficult for Viktor to stay if Ruben Amorim leaves Sporting, because Viktor came precisely because of Ruben. The day we met, I said to Ruben, here’s my boy, he came to Sporting because of you.”

Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany believes a verbal agreement has been reached between Liverpool and the Portuguese tactician, so perhaps Sporting CP fans should start to feel worried about losing Gyokeres as well.

Arsenal in driving seat

If the Swede does leave Lisbon this summer, Arsenal appear to be in pole position to secure his signature.

A story from CM Sport in Portugal claims that the Gunners are the most likely club to sign Gyokeres if he does leave Sporting CP this summer.

Elsewhere – according to Milan Live – Arsenal are even willing to trigger the striker’s £85m release clause to fend off competition from AC Milan.

That is – quite clearly – a huge amount of money, although Gyokeres has been right up there with the likes of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe in terms of goal involvements this season.

The 25-year-old has remarkably netted 36 goals in just 42 appearances, while also providing 15 assists as well.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen this summer.
