Jordan Larsson’s agent, Michael Jansen, has confirmed to Aftonbladet that the Spartak Moscow striker has interest from top clubs amid links with West Ham United.

The 23-year-old son of Celtic legend Henrik Larsson has been in sensational form with the Russian giants this season, netting 15 goals and offering five assists in 28 Premier Liga appearances.

His efforts have attracted suitors from across Europe to sit up and take note of his potential, with Goal previously reporting that the Hammers had begun monitoring his situation amid interest from Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund were said to be weighing up a move to sign the Sweden international at the end of the season amid doubt in the future of Erling Haaland, but are also keen to add depth to their striker ranks with the Norwegian and teenager Youssoufa Moukoko their sole options.

Larsson is considered to be an ideal choice to solve the Bundesliga giants’ search ahead of the arrival of Marco Rose, as he has big potential and should develop well under the current Borussia Monchengladbach head coach.

Jansen did not name Dortmund, nor West Ham, as a potential destination for his client, but confirmed to Aftonbladet that top teams are interested in signing the Spartak Moscow striker valued at 150 million Swedish Krona (£12.7m).

“Jordan is ambitious. Spartak knows that and they also know that he thrives in the club. It is a good combination to be able to have open and respectful discussions,” Jansen said.

“He is followed by clubs from the biggest leagues but right now Jordan’s focus is on the league, to reach the Champions League and hopefully play in the European Championships with Sweden.”

TBR’s view:

Jansen could represent a very promising option for West Ham to target at the end of the season amid their continued search for Sebastien Haller’s successor, and Spartak Moscow’s asking price should not prove all too problematic for David Moyes’ side to meet.

Dortmund’s interest could pose more of a threat to the Irons securing Jansen’s signature, but could circumnavigate that by promising a more regular role in Moyes’ plans next season than Rose would be able to afford if Haaland remains at the Signal Iduna Park.

Larsson’s ambitions to reach the Champions League could also be achieved at the London Stadium after West Ham’s magnificent efforts this term, and playing centre stage in the Premier League could see the five-cap international become undroppable for his country.
