The agent of Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa has told Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti has claimed that Leeds United have tabled an offer to sign the impressive defender ahead of the summer window – with the defender believed to be rated at £17million.
Sosa, 23, has been in stunning form for Stuttgart this season – but has not had it all his own way since joining Stuttgart in the summer of 2018. Clocking up 51 appearances for Stuttgart so far, more than half have come during the 2020-21 campaign.
Playing 26 times this season, the 19-time Croatia Under-21 international – who has been called up to Croatia’s senior side this season – has laid on a whopping 10 assists from the left flank. He has a contract at Stuttgart until the summer of 2025.
But Croatian agent Franjo Vranjković, who is renowned in Germany, has claimed that Leeds have tabled an offer for Sosa – a player Stuttgart rate at £17million. It is claimed other Premier League clubs are keen, but that a work permit could be tricky.

“The most important thing for him is to make a transfer to England because he has an offer from Leeds United, and some other clubs from the Premier League are also interested,” Sosa said. “Only the English can pay as much as Stuttgart is asking.
“I estimate that it will be about €20million (£17million). No leading German club has him on the radar. In order to make a transfer to England, since it is no longer in the EU, he must again have appearances for the Croatian national team.”
TBR’s view – Sosa would be a stunning signing
Much like Raphinha, Sosa is still very young and while not enormously experienced – he is showing huge quality in one of Europe’s biggest leagues, and will cost the same fee as the Brazilian sensation. The jewel in the crown is his incredible stats.
To lay on 10 assists in just 24 league appearances from left-back is stunning. The Whites have been looking for a left-back for some time and with Gjanni Alioski set to leave this summer and Leif Davis not yet ready, Sosa would be an ideal addition.
