‘Maybe January’: Arsenal, Tottenham and Potter tipped to sign ‘special’ £18m man after the World Cup

Gabby Agbonlahor has said that Brighton’s Leandro Trossard will be attracting big clubs like Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea this January.

Trossard scored once again yesterday as Brighton hammered a lacklustre Chelsea side. On Graham Potter’s return, the Seagulls made their old boss pay with a ruthless display. And once again, Trossard was key.

And speaking on TalKSPORT, former Aston Villa man Gabby Agbonlahor believes Trossard is so good that a move to one of the top six in January might be on the cards.

“He’s improved so much. He’s adding goals as well, he’s a threat. The goal he scored today, composure, into the corner of the net and he could be one that starts regularly for Belgium,” Agbonlahor said on TalkSPORT.

“He’s going to attract a lot of clubs over Europe. Premier League clubs as well. I think he could do a job at Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs. So I think now he’s playing like he is, maybe January, if Brighton can get a bit of money for him they might sell him in January.”

Trossard has already scored seven goals this season including a memorable hat-trick at Anfield. With the World Cup in a few weeks’ time, Trossard could propel himself on the world stage in Qatar.

TBR’s View: Trossard would be perfect at Tottenham

In fact, he’d fit in well with any of the clubs Agbonlahor mentions here. But with Tottenham showing their lack of attacking options in recent weeks, Trossard would be a blessing for them.

The Belgian looks a class above most of his Brighton teammates at times. He has a bit of everything in that attacking third and there is no doubt he’s been one of the stars of the season.

Trossard – who Paul Merson labelled a ‘special player’ – will be ambitious though. And should those big clubs come knocking, he might well fancy that move, especially if he has a good World Cup.
