Arsenal have reportedly rejected a second offer from Aston Villa of £30million to sign Emile Smith-Rowe – and Gabby Agbonlahor has reacted. The Midlands club had previously tabled £25million to get the uncapped Englishman. Now, Agbonlahor has had his say.

Smith-Rowe, 20, finally broke into Arsenal’s side last season and impressed under Mikel Arteta. Replacing Mesut Ozil in the 10 role, he clocked up 33 appearances and had a hand in 11 goals. But it was his connections with his teammates that brought the best out of the likes of Bukayo Saka.

Now, The Athletic state that a £30million has been rejected – after a £25million initial offer was blocked. It is unclear to see if Villa will return for a third offer for Smith-Rowe. Of course, it could be that Villa are preparing for the loss of Jack Grealish, who is linked with Man City.

What has Agbonlahor said about Arsenal star Smith-Rowe and Villa?

Villa have already brought in Emi Buendia, who is predominantly a left winger. That move of course, suggests Villa are preparing for life without Grealish. As well as that, Grealish can of course play as a 10 and signing Smith-Rowe might be another sign the Midlands club are ready to sell.

Agbonlahor, a Villa legend and now a somewhat outspoken pundit, has responded to Sky Sports’ report on Instagram. He believes that if a third offer is made, and £33million is tabled to sign Smith-Rowe, then Arsenal will have to accept.
