Arsenal have now made contact with Shakhtar Donetsk in regards to the signing of Heorhiy Sudakov.

That is according to Mirko Di Natale of Tutto Juve in Italy.

Well – according to Di Natale – Arsenal have been in touch with Shakhtar Donetsk to ask what it would take to sign the Ukraine international. Déjà vu, anybody?

Of course, Arsenal have already spoken to the Ukrainian giants in recent times to try and strike an agreement for Mykhailo Mudryk – only for Chelsea to outbid the Gunners.

Now, the north Londoners have resumed talks with Shakhtar Donetsk to ask about Sudakov – who has a release clause worth €100m (£85m) written into his contract.

The Shakhtar Donetsk No.10 has become a wanted man thanks to some fantastic performances in an attacking midfield role this season.

Sudakov – who some have compared to Christian Eriksen – has scored five goals while also providing two assists in 24 appearances so far this term.

Edu prepared to spend big

Recent transfer stories involving the Gunners suggest Mikel Arteta and Edu are prepared to spend heavily this summer, as Sudakov is not the only Arsenal target with an £85m release clause.

Clearly, money does not appear to be an obstacle for Arsenal this summer, and fans should perhaps expect to see another blockbuster signing like the £105m deal for Declan Rice based on this evidence.
