Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah could leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window amid reported Tottenham interest.
Spurs reportedly made a loan offer for the Englishman in August but it was turned down and Chalobah stayed at Chelsea.
Since then, of course, Thomas Tuchel has been sacked and replaced by Graham Potter, who will have his own ideas about the Blues squad.
According to the Athletic’s Liam Twomey, Potter sees Chalobah as a potential midfield option, but he could also let him leave in January.

Tottenham target Chalobah could move in January
He said: “We’ve been told that Potter sees him as a potential number six at the base of midfield as well as a ball playing defender.
“That’s something he has played pretty extensively in his career to date. In his season on loan at Lorient he was in midfield and when he was at Huddersfield the same, it was only Tuchel who only really saw Chalobah as a ball playing defender and towards the end of his time he didn’t really see him as anything.
“That is one of the tweaks we could see under Potter but of course there is plenty of competition in that area of the pitch.
“We haven’t heard anything substantial that Chalobah is looking for a move away but it would make sense that if he doesn’t play in the next six weeks or so, he will be assessing his options. I don’t think he will be alone in that.”
Blues icon Paul Canoville has called Chalobah ‘unbelievable‘ and tipped him to go on and become a full England international in future.
Spurs are still looking for a long-term reinforcement at the heart of their defence, with Clement Lenglet only on loan from Barcelona.
Djed Spence is a young English talent signed under Conte who has struggled for gametime at Spurs, and Chalobah might be wary of that if he does decide to move on and of course a switch across London would be accrimonious.
