After reported £7.1m bid Everton must swoop now on potential bargain buy

Everton were linked with an interest in the midfielder last month.

Atalanta have made an €8 million (£7.1 million) bid for Nice midfielder Adrien Tameze. According to L’Equipe, the Italian side are now waiting for a response from the French club regarding the deal.

This news might have Everton on alert.

Last month, it was reported by RMC Sport that Everton have been looking into signing the player this summer.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has all the attributes to be a star in the Premier League and Everton will surely have to match Atalanta’s offer. Because that is an absolute bargain price if accepted for such a talent.

In today’s market bringing in a layer of Tameze’s quality for just over £7 million would be a tremendous piece of business from Everton director Marcel Brands.

With doubts over the future of Idrissa Gana Gueye, there is certainly no reason why Tameze could not be a similarly impressive bargain in the Premier League.

Of course, even if they did match Atalanta’s offer a deal would be hard to push through. The Italian side can offer Champions League football to Tameze next season.

However, Everton must try. At £7.1 million, he could be one of the bargains of the summer.
