West Ham United manager, David Moyes, has admitted that the club could lose Declan Rice this summer and Liverpool should be at the head of the queue.
After taking over the Hammers, Moyes has been impressed with what he has seen from his young midfielder.

However, speaking about Rice in a report from the Guardian, Moyes admitted that his club might be powerless to keep the young midfielder at the club going forward.
Moyes drew comparisons to losing Wayne Rooney and Joleon Lescott at Everton. At that time, both players left for big money, allowing Moyes to strengthen the ranks further.
But with the likes of Manchester United reportedly sniffing around Rice, should it be Liverpool who are the ones more in need of signing Rice?
We think the Reds might just want to get a move on in making a move for the England man.
Young midfielders needed
Despite Jordan Henderson having the season of his life as Liverpool skipper, he’s no spring chicken anymore.
Neither are the likes of James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum. Milner is well into 30s, while Wijnaldum is 30 this year.
At just 21, Declan Rice would be a more than adequate long-term replacement. It would also give him time to work with the likes of Henderson and Milner before they move on to pastures new. This would be crucial in Rice adapting to the fast-paced style of Jurgen Klopp’s team.

It seems strange to suggest Liverpool need to be looking at new players given their dominance. However, Rice is one of the finest young midfielders in the country.
It makes sense, then, that the soon-to-be Premier League champions continue to strengthen their ranks.
A deserved opportunity for Rice
Without criticising the Hammers too much, there’s an argument to be made for Rice deserving better.
He has, at times, carried the club this season. Indeed, Moyes himself admitted in his interview that Rice has put the team on his back at times this season.
That in itself suggests those around him are not delivering.
If Rice can help secure West Ham’s Premier League status, then it seems only right that he be given a chance with one of the title contenders.
Liverpool, then, need to ensure they are at the front of the queue for Declan Rice when the time comes to strike.
