In his first season at under 23 level, Elias Sorensen has looked right at home for Newcastle United. Now, his prolific form has surely put him in the first team picture but coach Rafa Benitez is yet to introduce the 19-year-old.
The Danish youth international scored yet another brace this weekend against Manchester United to take his tally to 12 goals in as many games for the Magpies, with seven of them coming in his past four outings.
A real poacher, many may argue that he is just the kind of talent that the club need to look to with transfer acquisitions clearly lacking of late, but Benitez is yet to consider him.
Still young and inexperienced, the Spanish manager may be reluctant to put too much pressure on him just yet. After all, he is only three months into his first taste of reserve team football.
With more game time to come at that level and a potential loan exit, it may not be a shock if Sorensen heads out on loan or begins to feature in cup competitions in January as Benitez may look to try him out.
Either way, based on current form, it looks as though Newcastle could have a real talent on their hands.
