Newcastle United take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League this weekend.

The Magpies are looking to bounce back from defeat against Chelsea against a Wolves side who are on a high after coming from behind to beat Slovan Bratislava in the Europa League on Thursday.

On Match of the Day, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer noted that Wolves struggled to live with the pace of Danny Ings (via The Chronicle).

None of Conor Coady, Ryan Bennett or Willy Boly are blessed with real pace, and the centre-halves struggled to contend with the 27-year-old at Molineux.

The £16.5 million signing (BBC Sport) from Nice has shown glimpses so far, with his blistering pace clearly his biggest asset.

He is much quicker than Southampton’s Ings and could potentially do some real damage to a Wolves defence that does lack mobility as Shearer says.

Whether he can be a real problem, will partly depend on how good the service is to him – if he is played in over the top then he will not be caught.
