After £9m Christian Norgaard bid, Arsenal now advancing in talks to sign a different Premier League star

Andrea Berta – Director of Football at Arsenal – is looking close to home for new signings so far this summer.

Arsenal have already agreed a deal to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from London rivals Chelsea as a new backup for David Raya, with the Gunners triggering his £5m release clause.

Not only that, but Arsenal are looking to raid another Premier League rival amid interest in Alexander Isak, who is a dream target for Mikel Arteta.

Furthermore, Arsenal have bid £9m for Christian Norgaard, suggesting Berta highly values Premier League experience, and a move for another player from within the same division in Noni Madueke is now advancing.

Arsenal and Chelsea working to find Noni Madueke solution

Tutto Mercato Web now state that Arsenal are making progress in talks to sign the England international.

Arsenal enquired about Madueke earlier in June as Arteta and Berta aim to find a quality alternative to Bukayo Saka out on the right flank, and the situation seems to be developing.

Tutto Mercato Web state that Arsenal and Chelsea are both cooperating in these discussions, and an agreement could even be reached ‘soon’ according to the Italian news outlet.

Madueke, who is close with Saka and Declan Rice, made 27 Premier League starts under Enzo Maresca last season, but with Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto available to the Italian as options on the right – as well as the incoming Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian – Chelsea are prepared to offload the England international for £50m.

Arsenal should wait and see what happens with Rodrygo before agreeing any deal for Noni Madueke

Madueke is undoubtedly a talented winger, but there is an even better option who looks likely to be available.

Arsenal are exploring a deal for Rodrygo of Real Madrid, although Cadena SER state that the Brazilian is not expected to make a decision on his future until August.

That is not ideal for Arteta, as the South American would miss most of pre-season, but the Brazil international is a world class talent, and also rumoured to be valued around £70m, which is not a significant amount more than Chelsea are demanding for Madueke.

Jude Bellingham even said Rodrygo was better than both Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior as recently as last season, so if we were Berta, we would refrain from committing to a deal for Madueke for now.
