Arsenal are likely to be without star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the clash with Southampton today, according to reports yesterday.

Goal reported the news that Aubameyang had missed training and therefore his place in the squad could well be in doubt for today’s clash. The Gabon striker has continued to be picked by Mikel Arteta, despite a number of poor performances and a lack of goals. Indeed, the Gunners boss has had to deny rumours of a rift as well.

If Aubameyang does miss out, it could mean the door opens for either Eddie Nketiah or Folarin Balogun. On the plus side, the Gunners are expected to welcome Emile Smith Rowe back.

However, while Arsenal fans might normally rue the loss of Aubameyang, it seems that this time around, Gunners supporters are not overly fussed. In fact, some of the replies to the news on Twitter suggest that the team might be better off without their £300k-a-week man.

Here, then, is what some Arsenal fans had to say about Aubameyang and his latest injury news ahead of Southampton.
